Jan Manton Gallery – Flynn Hodgson Exhibition

Last week IDA Members enjoyed a preview of artist Flynn Hodgson’s latest exhibition ‘Bouquets’. Thanks to Jan from Jan Manton Gallery for hosting this lovely event.

A bit about the artist.  Flynn’s artistic work evolves out of movement and memory.

His work establishes a meditative approach and invites viewers to reflect on the patterns within their own lives, embracing both stability and fluidity that shape our shared human experience.

The natural forms within his work, like piercing light through canopies, emerge and recede which suggests we are in a state of becoming and never static.

His art bridges the past with the present and evokes place and time, love and loss.

Ultramarine blues and rich red hues are born from his unique process of layering pastel powder and spray paint.   Each piece commits to a single trajectory of form and bold colour which establishes an immersive experience.

Members then enjoyed a casual dinner after the event. We’d love to see you at our next event.
